I noticed a little discoleration on my pipes from the engin
to about 10 inches down. the color is somewhat blackish
blueish. I was wondering if this is normal or it's a result of me
changing my air cleaner to a big sucker and riding without
a rejet??
By the way she runs great but I was just wondering.
Thanks for the reply man!!
I'm new to the bike world so I need all the info possible for when
I go to my dealer. I beleive it did start after the install of my
air cleaner uprade. however, how can I fix this air/fuel mixture??
Do I need to rejet, put it on a dyno or is this something as simple
as the idle adjustment screw??
Thanks in advance Ryan

You didn't say what bike you have , but a TC would use jetting like 45/46 in the low speed area and 190 in the high speed area, if you have the main jet needle shimmed up with 2 - #4 washers, the bike should run as good as it possibly could. Don't drill the slide and changing the slide spring to a weaker one is optional.
If the jetting is stock in the carb after you changed the intake, then you are no doubt running lean and you should rejet before you do any damage to the motor.
You can usually change mufflers with no rejetting, but intake or intake and mufflers need rejetting.
Thanks to you all!!
I'm taking all this info and I'm heading to the
dealer today. Also I'm going to have them put on
a pair of SEII slip-on's and the hell with the neiborhood.(lol)
I'll let you all know about the results as soon as it's finished.
P.S. My bike is a 2005 softail Deuce, carburated in vivid black
I'm also new to motorcycling, but I have heard that there is a creme where you can polish out most of that blue? I'm not sure it works as I never tried it. However, it might be something to consider to get back some of that shine. If the bluing isn't too bad, then it claims to get out most of it. Good luck.
Thanks to you all!!

With the SEIIs, as long as you don;t honk on the throttle, you can cruise down the street relatively quietly... not nearly as quietly as stock mufflers, but you should not disturb people.
I was wondering what the difference is between the regular
screaming eagle pipes as opposed to the SEII's??
The reason I'm asking is that my dealer told me if I put
on the SEII's it will void my warranty. He also told me that
the regular screaming eagles are 60/40 instead of 50/50
and the sound of the regular screaming eagles
is somewhere between stock and the the SEII's.
I'm so confused.[sm=helpout.gif]
