Default Seat options on Crossbones - some observations

Put my OEM solo seat today to try out seating position with my new floorboard extensions. I have mostly been riding of late with a fatboy deep bucket seat (part number 51801-07) and came to the conclusion that either seat really transforms completely the nature of the bike, so thought it might be useful to share my thoughts.
A picture tells a thousand words ... so here's what they look like on the bike.

So what do they change when riding the bike?

Solo seat -
1. Two inches higher than the bucket, inch or so further back?
2. More leg room, can straighten legs hanging off the front of the footboards
3. Bars lower down the body, steering input lighter, higher centre gravity makes town turns more natural
4. Seem to sit near the back of seat, when running hard always feeling you might slip off ...
5. Under braking a lot of forward movement
6. Very comfy, the springs work with the suspension, best seat I ever sat on a motorcycle ... (so far)
7. Buffets like crazy with my HD removable windshield
8. Girlfriend hates by HD matching pad anything more than 30 min trip

Bucket seat
1. Legs more cramped, but not uncomfortable
2. Nice solid back support, no shifting back when gunning it, feels very secure. Not much movement under brakes either. I always seem to ride harder with this saddle.
3. Low centre of gravity means you turn more with seat of your pants, requires more bar effort
4. Feels harder than solo seat, though still very comfy
5. My windshield works perfect (great!!) 80/90 on the freeway pain and buffet free if a bit noisy
6. My girlfriend loves it, though she still hates the sissy bar pad, its just too low

So which do I prefer ? I still don't know!, which is why after researching on here I'm gonna try a 1925 seat, though I will keep the bucket as its a great saddle, and my girlfriend will thank me for it.

Hope this has helped someone who is playing with Crossbones seats!

Gotta say I agree with your thoughts. I had the stock seat, thought it was nice, then got the 1925 solo, liked it even more. better control of the bike, better wind protection with windshield. Blew my back out had to go with mustang solo touring with back rest, best saddle ever. Solid control, much more aggressive when I ride, turn the bike on a dime now. Love the seat, won't go back to solo sprung, even though it looks 100 times better.
