Default Another windshield question

The full size windshield on my '96 Heritage isn't a solid piece of lexan. It has a seperate piece by the headlamp that catches every bug there is in south Texas. Is there a one piece windshield that also is quick release that will fit my year? I'm not sure if there have been any changes since '96. I would like to try a quick release for those rides when I head out of the salt grass.

Have you checked your HD 2007 Acc. and Parts catalog? I just looked in it under Softail models. There are a few windshields that may be worth looking at. Also J&P Cycles has a fairley good selection. (Their web address is www.jpcycles.com)

Advanced Search on the online Accessories section of HD's website has a year / model filter and their seem to be plenty options listed for that 1996.

You can use any detachable windshield for an FLST with passing lamps. H-D only started offering the QD windshield as standard on the Heritage in 2000, but it is the same one offered for earlier models. Check on Ebay. Can usually get a good used windshield for around $150.00. You may have to buy the hardware kit, but it is only about 30 bucks.
