So I got my new Heritage about a week ago. Put about 300 miles on it and then the rear caliper decided to crap out. Seems that a pin or clip in there gave out, or likely... was put in improperly at the build time.
Anyways, the entire rear brake system needs to be replaced so I am without my bike for probably a week. Only saving grace is that Harley has to pay for the repair. But damn, less than 500 miles on the bike...
Well thank God it did not lock up if you were moving when it cratered. Not heard of that on a new HD before. Should be an easy fix for your dealer though.
Heritage is a great platform, your going to really enjoy it.
The saving grace is that you're still alive. It is a shame that it take a week for dealers to get parts for a 2010, or in my case a week or two for a 2003.
I'll show may age here and reminisce about the time I could order parts for a MOOSE, Motorcycle Our Of Service Emergency) and get them in two business days. In other words why aren't Harley parts warehoused in two or three locations for 2-day UPS delivery anywhere in the US?
I have a 2010 Heritage too, love it , u will too hey the human has never made anything perfect and stuff breaks, they will fix it and everything will b fine, but i know its fustrating wanting to ride good luck.
