Dont think Harley EVER made any of their boots, always made by someone else with just the HD logo added, and made by SEVERAL different companies depending on the particular boot. Most boot/shoe manufacturing left this country for Brazil over 20 years ago (see Brown Shoe Company) and now most of that has gone to guess where.........China.

I have a pair of Harley boots that have been great. I have about 20,000 miles of riding in them. I have a few items from Leatherup.com (Xelement) that have been great; although not boots. I'd certainly give them a try based on my experience with their other items.

I just got a pair of xelement boots and I do like them. Unfortunately, they feel loose in the heel just like the Harley boots did. The length is good just loose in the heel. Two pairs of socks and some inserts and they are fine.

interesting thread... and yes, harley doesn't make it's own boots, as a matter of fact, it collects them from all over the world! u could say,
I have 3 pairs of harley boots... 1 of them sux! I had to re-stitch the sole because it was already coming off! the other 2, are worn... they all are made in china, and guess what, I bought a pair of the exact same boots I have for my dad and they are made in taiwan!
they cost me around $70 dollars though :P
don't ask them why they are so cheap in my country... they just are

I have a pare of HD boots that are 14 years old with a lot of life left in them, probably get another 4 or 5 years out of them if the leather upper holds up. I did buy a new pare last year and started breaking them in. The old pare are made in Korea and the new ones are made in the U.S.A. ............. Figure that one out !

Guess I'm the only one that goes to PayLess shoe store. Baught a pair of water proof boots for 40 bucks when I baught my first harley about a year and a half ago. use them daily as I ride daily all year long. put a little over 14,000 miles on them. 5 to 6 thousand of those miles in rain. Still look good and still comfy. which means I get to keep the 40 bucks I was planning on spending on a new pair this winter

Can't live without my Red Wing 875's!! Excellent quality and I can wear them for 18 hrs straight. Best $160 I ever spent.

2 pairs of HD. Average quality engineer and square-toes. Buckle broke on engineer boots 3 months after I got them and the square toes are cool (but scuff easily). Wouldn't think of wearing them for 18 hours....
