Hate to semihijack the thread, but I've had a couple pair of Harley riding boots and have been thoroughly unimpressed with their durability.....quite comfortable though, but they just don't last (and so the xelement ones may be poorly constructed too)....opinions on superior brands?

Have to agree with the "breather". The Harley boots can't take the wear. Only had one pair and will never buy theirs again.

I have Brown leather Frye Engineer Boots in Distressed Vintage Leather.. Think they just came out with them with studs.. Friggin awesome boots, known as the most comfortable boot around. Comfortable from Day one, more comfortable than when I ride with my chucks... If moneys not an issue check em out... Think mine ran 370.00 new but I found them on Ebay for 190.00 about a year ago..

Was buying Harley boots from Leatherup.com but they switched to EXelement brand. Now I know why. Looks like the identical boot!

I have a pair of Harley 12" Harness boots I've had for over 20 yrs. Still in great shape, but not quite as comfortable as my Chippewa 12" Harness boots.
I got the Chippewa boots on ebay for $100. They list for $250 on amazon.

Red Wing motorcycle boots, square toes, buckle, look good and comfortable.
Only thing is that mine were the last year they were made in the US, now they are made in China.

I was told by an owner of a dealership that Harley has not made there own boots for years. She told me of a few mfg. that Harley used and xelement was one of them.
