If you have rubber, the bars/risers will move back and forth pretty good when you pull/push on them. If they just move just slightly, you've got poly. Of course, the taller the bars, the more (and easier) the movement.

Actually, if the dealer put them on you paid good money for the job. Wouldn't it be up to them to find a solution to the problem. If it's not safe install seems there could be a liability for them.

Good luck with that..... I have never been able to get them to stand behind something, but there is no other dealer nearby.
I agree totally that they should find a solution, as I did pay quite a bit for these installed. I guess I will try again.

Drill and tap the riser and clamp and use set screws as Dr. V-twin stated. I also cut two strips of drywall repair mesh and wraped around the bars where the clamps grip for the added grip. My bars have not even thought about moving since. This is the only thing that has been solid and I have tried all the tricks.

They would go through the top clamp. Drill and tap the top clamp for the set screw. The set screw would tighten against the bars.
Going all the way through the top clamp and bars would lock you into one position for your bars.

What you will need is a 5/16 Heli-Coil kit from Autozone. $20 or so. You will also need a 21/64 drill bit. It comes with instruction but I will try and give you a high level overview.
First you will drill out the existing threads with the 21/64 bit. Not all they way through the lower clamp but to the bottom of existing threads. (Easier than it sounds)
Second, you will re-thread the new holes with suplied tap.
Third, insert 5/16 heli-coil. I apply a bit of red lock tite to secure the coil. Once you screw the coil in. Lift the punch up a bit and give it a half turn. Then punch out the coil notch. (Again easier than it sounds)
Let it set for a bit.
During this time I apply the strips of drywall repair mesh around the bars. Only about a 1/2" strip that will hide under the clamp. This helps insure grip.
Finally, place bars back on and tighten down with existing allen bolts.
Should be good to go. Hope this helps brother.

Are you talking about repairing damaged riser threads? I think Drew linked a picture of a set screw added to the top clamp. It with the stock riser bolts is what locked the bars in position.
