Default Windshield height??

Hey Guys,
I've got a winshiled I use for long rides and am considering cutiing it down because it's so tall. Is there a general rule for height? Seems like I remember reading an inch or two below eye level.
Any tips on cutting it and is there an easy way to keep the factory curve at the top?
Thanks!

I don't know about the cutting of a windshield. I can tell you I went from a king size to a low profile HD windshield on my Fatboy. I have way less buffeting with the low pro. It's about nose tip level.

Here's a video I found and posted before in another thread. Others said they followed it to a T and were very happy with the results,

Yep, according to HD (accessories book) the windshield ultimately should be 2 inches below eye level. You should always be looking OVER the windshield, not THROUGH it.

General rule is that you should be looking over it but some prefer having it higher. I get less buffeting with a taller shield than lower.

My Heritage shield top was in my line of vision which I found annoying. I took just enough off to get it below that level (3/4"). Just remember you can always take off more but you can't add any.

That vid that was posted earlier works great. My shield edges look factory and I think I only went as far as the 400 sandpaper.
