No problem. Also make sure the seals are properly seated with the side with the letters facing up. If you don't have the special tool, you can use a pcv pipe like I did.
So just to clarify flat part of spacer/washer goes toward the bottom of the fork slider, then the seal letters face up toward the top.
My FXST leaks. I replaced the seals and still it leaks. I noticed a slight pit in the fork where it looks like someone prior to me may have scratched it in a vise. Both sides leak. The left a little more. I just add a an ouce of oil every few hundred miles until I feel like tearing it down or getting a complete new front end.
I used the HD low profile springs or whatever they are called. They are suppose to be 1" lower then the stock. Im not sure how much lower the progressive are but mine did require less oil. 13.4 oz if I remember correctly.
The progressive drop i used droped it 2" but the kit didn't say to use less oil or not.
Here is this: Looks like with the low profile 1" drop springs you would use 13.4 oz. I cant recall what the stock amount would be and a friend has my manual, but if I remember correctly it was something like 16oz. Maybe once you figure out (for sure) what the stock amount would be determine the difference and multiply it by 2 since you have a 2" drop.....
wow, the dealer took the seals off to look.....why not put new ones in when he put back together...they are the price of a case o beer....why do all that work and not call to see if you wanted new ones put in....hmmmm

no kidding, especially when the manual specifically states if you take it apart to use "NEW SEALS".. and yes its in bold too.
I was just looking at the instruction sheet for the progressive drop-ins and I find it odd it makes no mention of oil at all.
I be willing to be there is just too much oil in the fork. If there is, its got to go somewhere and the only place would be to leak around the seals. Only place it could go. Or through the drain but its not leaking there.
i put the same amount in that the manual said when dry (cuz i took them all the way apart ) and have no probs....you need new seals for sure...hell i even put new copper crush washers on the drain plug and bottom of the sliders, and rubber washer on the top cap why take a chance when them parts are so cheap.....
