Wife is soon to be unemployed so I need to do in stages,if you could mill a groove in the bottom of the plastic houing the wide of the mounting bracket it would work with stock light Housing?

You can buy a led mounted plate from Softbrake or get a led light strip from an auto part store. The new housing does not have a clear lens at the bottom, there is no room for it. Mounting can be a little challenging if you have big hands. I did not want to have to remove the fender. It's a little tight to fit your hand and a wrench between the fender and the wheel but it is possible.

It probably works but the stock housing has that big ugly bump where the stock plate bracket mounts. The softbrake housing ls smooth which looks a lot better.

Put mine on the side. I think I spent 25 bucks on the mount and 30 bucks on the frame that has the bright LED tag light. I love it. Cool thing is that the frame and the mount are made in the US.
