If your putting that much work into the bike have you priced just having a bike built and keeping the rocker? Seems for maybe a tad more you could have 2 bikes for what youll have in this one at the end. Eitherway, its your money and youve earned it so do what makes you happy. Plus it seems its too late anyways.

Yes I have priced it. Sure I could buy another stock Harley for the amount I'm putting into it, but then I have 2 bikes I'm not happy with. The chopper I wanted to get was going to run about 35K. So, I sell my bike for 16.5 and that leaves me paying 18.5K for a bike that is not a Harley. This project is going to run about 15K Sure my bike will be 3 yrs old, but the VIN will stay in tact so it'll still be a Harley and it'll be a one off instead of a production bike. That was my logic.

Sounds awesome, I'm really looking forward to seeing more pics of this unique rocker project.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. It like my wife told me, why get a bike you don't love and want to get rid of later then build one you will want for your lifetime. Take care over there and be glad your not over here. It has became very boring.

I wasnt trying to knock your decision and hope it didnt come across that way. I guess I was just more curious to your logic of doing what your doing. What you do may or may not be what I would do but what I would do doesnt matter, its your bike and you should do what YOU want. As long as your happy with it thats great. I am very interested in the outcome and look forward to seeing the progress. I hope its done and ready to roll when you get back.
One more thing, Great choice on the springer. Love those things and have one on my '60 rat.

Nah man, I didn't think that at all. I can be very mater of fact in my words so I can come off as a dick, but it's not intentional. I toiled for months over the decision and even as the work goes on, I still wonder if I should have went another way. However, I believe the end product will be worth it and it'll truly be MY bike unlike anyone elses.
