Default Mustang seat ?

I was wondering if I purchased a vintage solo seat for my fatboy lo do I use the current mounting holes. Also can I use my HD passenger touring pillion with it?

My Mustang mounts to the frame and does not use the OEM holes. You may have the option though. Also, I don't believe the Mustang and HD seats are compatable. I may be incorrect but I believe it's under FAQ on the Mustang site (at least it was when I purchased 2 years ago). Hope this helps.

There is a second hole in your fender in front of the current pillion mount point that the Mustang attaches to. It comes with a platic plug in it from the factory. If you order a new seat, it should come with all the needed hardware. The factory pillion will not work with the Mustang. You will be super happy with the Mustang. I absolutely love mine.

If the Mustang seat was made for your bike it will fit. On my 2000 Fatboy, the Harley seat mounting bolts unscrewed on each side, then the Mustang mounting bolts screwed into the frame. My Harley side mounting bolts had a quick detach screw in the center to get the seat off without removing the entire mounting bolt. Your year and model may be different. There should be a plug in the fender for the rear mount as mentioned above.

I have the Wide Solo with backrest. It fits perfectly in where the stock seat was and uses the same mounts (front tongue and 2 back bolts). I didn't have to change anything at ll, it just mounted right up.

The stock pillion will not fit. You have to either buy the Mustang pillion or have yours modified. I read a thread a while back where the guy had taken his pillion apart, trimmed the foam, then put it back together and it worked fine.

The Mustang Solo Vintage Wide with Backrest on my 04 Heritage was the most comfortable seat I had on any Bike owned .. Bar None and Mounting Holes Lined Right Up ..
