I'd post pic's but pictures on a computer will not do it justice...that black box stuff is that good.....all the neighbors came over to the driveway when I finished....well worth the 20 bucks or so...but my finger nails still look dirty two days later........wear gloves...
It wont hurt any Black Paint Job. Pinstriping or not. My bike has pin striping and it looks as though it just came off the showroom floor. And its $20 for a 4 or 5 step process with detailer, and applicator pads. Chrisangie, You will be amazed, you wont use anything else. ANd you can get it anywhere.
Great man thanks ill get some , two bikes are still new but ive had other black bikes so i know whats coming wih them, the one has gold and red factory pinstriping, the other has orange H-D across the tank so didnt want to use something that would die those black. And i love black bikes obviously since this is the only color i have ever owned lol . But it is hard to care for and i live up a gravel road.
All my bikes, Corvettes, Viper, truck and cars are black. Not a problem to keep them looking great at all. Spray with a little Pledge and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. Done.
I am never ever ever going to own a vivid black bike again....It scratches so easy and shows everything. You look at the damn thing and its scuffs. I dont remember my black truck showing that bad.......never again I tell u....
I inherted (aka bought) a vivid black night train that inlcuded custom swirl marks. Regular wax seems to be a very temporary solution, I had never heard of the Black Box. I am excited to try.
My Road King was vivid black.....one thing I found that works well is the Eagle one nanowax spray. I would wipe the bike down with a good detail spray then with a CLEAN microfiber, spray and wipe the nanowax. It doesn't require buffing its just a spray and wipe. It did well with hiding the swirl marks and fine scratches. That is one of the big reasons I got the Crossbones in black denim........
I use Eagle one nanowax spray as well. couple other tricks i do: 1. only ever wipe in the direction of the wind (washing, waxing, etc.); 2. never wipe a dry bike. If i need to dust will use swiffer duster to get the top layer off, otherwise its a wash. When I do a full wash i wash, s100 pre-wax, then carnuba wax and follow up with nanowax spray to seal the finish. Might be over kill but in 4 years have only noticed small scratches where I go around the gas cap and fuel guage. Need to slow down in these areas to be a little more carefull.
Also just took a clay bar to the paint to pull out some of the contaminants that could scratch. keep the clay wet if you do this.
