Gas cap buzz/rattle

This is driving me bananas. Short of buying a flush mount kit, any suggestions for fixing this?

I had the same problem. Also mine would spew gas when you came to a fast stop. Took it into my HD dealer and they replaced the cap w/ a new. They ackowledged that some gas caps were not seating correctly.

Yes, I always screw it in until I hear a couple of clicks.

Mine does the same thing... I never noticed it till i put a 2-1 exhaust on...prolly cuz i couldn't hear the damn thing before that with my straight pipes....lol! Buy a new one...tell us if that fixes it...

mine did that and they were going to replace it but never got around to it, louder pipes and i cant hear it anymore.

Have the same issue. Found taking a large set of pliers and a towel over the cap and "crimping" the sides seemed to help for a little while about a year. I have found when you tighten it stop at the first click also seems to help. Like others said my local dealership said yeah that happens but they did not offer to replace it. Good luck
