Who Needs a Bagger?
A couple of weeks ago I rode my '07 Heritage the 1,000 miles out here. Before I left I did a few things that made the trip very comfortable.
I'd originally installed V&H Big Shots and found them too loud. So, I sold those (to someone on this site) and installed a Supertrapp Supermeg 2 in1. They are VERY quiet, at least the way I have them set now with, I think, 15 or 16 discs but it still sounds good and the performance was outstanding.
I also installed a Road Tech XM radio on the handlebars and listened to that with some earbuds. It was GREAT! I think my head would have been spinning if I hadn't gotten some tunes (and my sports talk).
Then, I used for the first time, my Biker's Friend XL bag with the lumbar support. Outstanding! Very comfortable being able to lean back on it.
Then, I also had my Camel Back backpack which contained ice cold water that I could drink from through a tube over my shoulder.
The 1st day from Pasadena through Las Vegas and on to St. George, UT was 105 degrees not including the engine and road heat.
2nd day from St. George to Grand Junction and the last day to Evergreen.
My only complaint is the Supermeg was badly blued or brown at the end and the connector. Really disappointed in that.
All in all, my bike was as smooth, fast and responsive as I could possibly hope for. Never ridden a touring bike and don't think I'll need one. My bike rocks!
Thanks for letting me share.
