Fuel overflow
94 Heritage I just picked up a week ago..
With bike off, petcock off, I am spilling gas from the over flow. It happened last week so I ran some carb cleaner and some Seafoam through the carb. After a few squirts with the carb cleaner it stopped. Thought I had cleared something that was sticking in the carb. I just got in from a ride and it was doing again today. If I pinch the fuel line off it seems to stop or at least slows to almost a complete stop.
Am I dealing with a bad petcock or a carb situation?
Have not had a chance to pick up a repair manual so I am a bit stuck here.
Everything appears to be stock on this guy.

Really sounds like both. Gas should not run out of the carb with petcock on...and if the needle and seat in the carb were bad turning off the petcock should stop it. The alcohol they are putting in the gas will kill the rubber parts in the older bikes...sounds like both need a little service.
