Get the heritage, even if it feels a little heavy at slow speeds it will only last a week or so. I had a sportster for my first harley, took about a month and I wanted something bigger, made the switch to a fatboy and the fatboy is more comfy and easier to control. probably because it's lower then the sportster, I'm 6'1 and 155.

Heck I'm only 5'10" and the sportster felt like a dirt bike to me....fun to ride but I wouldn't want to ride one very far....of course, the one I rode was off the showroom with standard peg position and bars, but still. Test rides are invaluable.
