I am not worrying about brackets fitting as will be modifying anyway, but apparently the headpipe is same on either, but worried about the bends being same?? Will Dyna pipes clear the oil tank on the Softail? Any help greatly appreciated...I can't buy what I want, and will have to get creative but not sure if I can make Dyna pipes I can get here, fit?
I think it'll fit but you're looking at welding brackets, etc. Hell, anything is possible with a welder and a little imagination!! Good luck, let us know how it goes.
About clearance, which exhaust are you looking at?
yea it will bolt up to the motor but the mounting will be different cause the frames are different. Like said above if your handy with a welder anything is possible!!
Thanks to all for your replies....what I am trying to accomplish for my 1994 FXSTC is to get upswept pipes and run Trumpet mufflers...was looking at Fishtails but prefer Trumpet, BUT either way challenge is I would prefer not to have the rear cylinder pipe run just under the passenger peg (my daughter rides with me generally).....SO, was looking at 1 3/4 drag pipes that run close together along bottom frame rail (like Milwaukee Twins "long & Lows") so they run well under passenger peg, then run the upswept cocktail shakers off them, leaving the front pipe a bit longer to allow clearance for the two trumpet exhaust...but they are for Dyna....I also found Paughco upsweeps for a Softail that would likely work, but they were double price, so was hoping to make the MT ones work :-) Since I am having to rig mufflers would be making brackets either way, but was worried about oil tank clearance..in pictures, it looked like the ones for Softail ran tighter to cylinder thatn the ones for Dyna and wondered if that was because of oil tank/frame different...have no issue welding up some brackets but if the Dyna is bigger curve, they would hit oil tank.......
Not sure if that explains it well, but as noted, appreciate the feedback...
Dr VTwin, thanks for earlier feedback on Sampsons but as noted trying to avoid the high pipe run......

Ive got Samson Legend Ripsaws, which are for Dynas, on my 94 Heritage. The rear pipe cleared the oil tank without any issues; the real challenge was correctly clearing the transmission.
Hope this helps!
Yes just a little bracket mod. I put my wife’s V+H Longshots from my wife’s 05 Low Rider and put them on her 04 FX Springer. I bought a Softail bracket from V+H and drilled 1 hole
