I have the same scrapes on my primary, pipes , and swingarm bag. After buying new tires I changed my riding habits. Not as much fun but cheaper.

Yep I scraped it also... Now I have a open primary now so I'm trying not to damage it... lol So I just take it easy around the corners...

I just purchased a new primary like that for my Fatboy Lo, but I've got floorboards as well.

I think getting new tires made it worse as towards the end of my stock Dunlops I was taking it pretty easy, but once I got my Metzelers put on...

damn I've rode around with my bike completely slammed (2" in the front and air ride in the rear) and never done that. and I thought I was an aggressive rider.

A buddy of mine had his primary plug come out of his primary yesterday from hitting one of those reflectors. Here is the mess it made. I told him to get an air ride...It is a well worth it preventative price to pay. Not to metion all that oil getting all over your rear wheel while riding...You should have seen the mess his bike was. I in no way wish to use scare tactics on people, this was a real life experience and I was shocked to see it happen.

Now you see why I was asking about the shotgun shock set up.

ha ha looks like a haz-mat situation for the epa types there Drew.
This is another day in the hills for me and I don't have a mark on the plug, just the lower frame rail and primary cover. Are ya sure the plug is back in all the way when the oil is changed?G.

I have a few scratchs a little farther back, but not that close to the plug.
