Maybe he's just a newbie to ebay, doesn't really get the "reserve" price deal. Maybe he's hoping it goes for a bunch more. Which if its legit, it will. Just wondering out loud.

He would really be in for a surprise if that's the case since its not an auction but a classified ad. No bids at all, just a price. However ebay does not broker the deal. This is typical these days, its a bait and switch, contact him and they will either get you to send a deposit and you'll never hear from them again, or they will say they made a mistake and it should have been more. Either way, I would bet you're not getting that bike for that price.

If it isn't a scam, I would assume he dropped a 1 off the 7,900.00 ..17,900.00

i gotta give them credit if it is a scam, tho. usually every scam ive encountered is worded something like, "Greetings friend. I's have an good deal for you, if like. I am soldier ins the Army and am being ship to Afgan. The item is in *insert farthest city here* all packages and ready to ship to your location.".... and so on and so forth. atleast this person made an effort to seem legit.
