cam kit 24984-99 contents
I think I am in need of replacing the cam bearings as I have the same noise as some of the other guys here and they have used cam kit 24984-99 and I need to know if the cams come in the kit. If anyone here has used the kit can you maybe post the instructions from the kit or parts list ? I might upgrade to aftermarket cams if they don't.

The kit is supposed to come with the whole shebang, and is only needed IF you've already blown it up. Honestly though, if you really think you need this kit, consider upgrading the cam plate to hydraulic tensioners. For a few bucks more, you get a much better deal

There is an extensive list of components is this repair kit including camshafts, cam bearings, cam bearing support plate, cam sprocket, cam chain, cam tensioner, oil pump, hydraulic lifters and gaskets.
A complete description of this problem was published in the December 2000 American Iron Magazine page 28.
Harley-Davidson Service Bulletin M-1100 "Cam Bearing Repair Kits" issued July 10, 2000 defines the problem and repair.
