I will be putting some hardstreet sixxer bags on mine for the longer trips and taking them off for the look cool factor on short trips.

no disrespect, but...those who want a set of bags and a windshield on a Fat Boy...should have bought a Heritage. IMO

btw...your Leatherworks bag looks to be larger and maybe better than the HD version...I hope I'm not disspointed with my HD # 90200417
OK I just have to reply to this:
Actually you both right. I have the FB low and have detachable windshiled and saddlebags AND the Leatherworks oversize SoloBag.
So long trip I have all the comfort and storage and when I am in town its as bare as it gets with the cool solo bag.
So...

Imo....bagging a fatboy, duals are needed to balance out the bike. The big room under the bags never looked right for meh.

Also, what color is the bike? If denim black, leather roadking bags look awesome....

Bah my bad....1 yr old post gets reply:P

If glossed than bags like this....

About the first thing I did when I got my 10' Lo was get bags. I too had a hard time figuring out 1) What looks good, 2) What do I need and 3) how much?

So after hours of mindless web surfing I happend upon a swap meet and found a pair of slightly used custom leather bags. All I did was add the Ghost brackets/Easy brackets and a lurn signal relocate kit. The bags cost me $120, the brackets were about $20 or so. The turn signal replacement was probably another $20 from the dealer.

I must respectfully disagree with your 2nd comment (I put it in red). Hubby bought a new 2012 Fatboy Lo late this past riding season. He is what he refers to himself as, a "minimalist" and loves the stripped down look best. He does have a swingarm bag - looks great and is great for a couple small items. However ... there are just simply times when you need more storage. AND .. there are times when a windshield is nice to have - especially on some of our frigid New England days. So he has detachable saddlebags and a new Gladiator Windshield. Both are easy to remove for most around town, or day trips, easy to put back on for longer hauls, or in the case of the windshield, on really cold days. So because he at times wants/needs these items on his bike, he should have bought a Heritage?? I don't think so.

Now me?? I bought the Heritage. I DROOL over the Fatboy Lo, but knew since I prefer to ride 99% of the time with bags and a full shield, it made no sense for me. But I'm happy - I have the bike that is perfect for me .... and once the good weather comes, I'll talk hubby into letting me take HIS bike for a spin!!

To each his own but I think bags have no place on a Lo.

You said it to each his own. That's why we mod our bikes to our style. I love how you can take the same bike and make it so different. Bags on a Lo hello yeah! No bags on a Lo hello yeah!

Was gonna put bags on for DAytona until I saw the price. Then I just went with a kuryakyn sissy bar bag.
