Have you or would you put saddlebags on your FB Lo? I am thinking about putting on a set of hard bags but not sure- still keeping in mind the leather bags too-what do you think?

If you're gonna go with bags, I'd say go with the www.bossbags.com. They're easily removable. But on the Lo...I'd stick with the roll bag.
I would love to put a set of HD hard bags on my lo but good luck finding a rear fender that is longer to match the bags and fillers. I cant find anyone who makes a 200 rear like that
I put detachable bags on my Fatboy and think they look OK. I prefer the look without bags, but sometimes ya just need the room. My advice would be to go easily detachable. Here is a pick of my bike loaded on the way back from Sturgis. I can go from that to my sig pick in 5 minutes.
i was going to cut mine, and i will at some point, but, what i realized once i took it off and mocked it up is that without dropping the rear of the bike i wont get the look im going after.
That being said, im saving cash to slam the rear and then........ CHOP!
I bought the original HD Detachable Leather Saddlebags for Softails (ref. 88238-07). They require the turn signal relocation kit (ref. 69857-07), but look OK on the bike. Be cautious however: these bags do not match with the stock Fat Boy Lo exhausts; I have V&H shortshots so I had no problem.
The original HD Detachable saddlebags for the Fat Boy (ref. 88306-07) do match with the original exhausts, but they look awful with all the leather applications... at least that't my opinion .
I went with leather detachables on my bike. I was able to get ahold of a very lightly used set of 90058-05 saddlebags. It's hard to tell from my sig pic, but the bag actually clears the top muffler by a little more than 2 inches.
Your bags look much better than harley's 88306-07 detachables. I like the simpler cleaner look and I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair for my 10 fatboy lo with the same mufflers. What minor mod did you have to make? Did you need to relocate the rear directionals?
I went with the HD detachables as well (88306-07), which I preferred. However, I did not attach the reflectors to the bags as shown in the catalog. Instead, I attached them to the detachable sideplates that hold the sissy bar. . I also used the HD docking hardware and rear turn signal relocation kit. The clearance referred to earlier can be seen in the photo below. The signature photo also shows how the rear turn signals been moved back and how the bike looks without the bags mounted. I also have the black magnetic caps over the extensions used to mount the bags in the signature photo.
