How do you determine mileage on these bikes? How do I know how many miles are to much? My buddy at a dealership a couple of hours from me called & said that he just got a 2008 Night Train with 14500 miles that is super clean.
I owned 2 sport bikes before buyin harleys. I had a 08 hyabusa and a 07 R1. Ive had 2 harleys since then and wont ever go back. As far as what you like in HDs, if you like the blacked out look, go for it. Make it your own bro. My first HD was a fatboy, then I did some things to it, but I came across my 06 deluxe and the possibilities are endless on this model. Not sayin you cant do things to other scoots, but the deluxe is so versatile. I hear ya on the black though, I just blacked out my front end and goin with black spokes as well, gonna put some chrome in there too, but gonna mix it up alittle bit more than the usual deluxe owner.
I love my night train man, There are several other bikes that are blacked out as well besides the train. The night rod and some of the Dyna's are also available. I think the street bobs are cool. I had a wide glide and I like the Softail better personally, my first street bike was an R6, I had fun with it but the HD is so much more. As many have said ride a few different ones before you jump just to see what you like best. 14,000 miles is not that bad I've seen them with 50,000. I'm sure people have more but that's the most I've seen

I love the look of your train. That is the look that I want. I will try to ride a few different models to see if I like something else but to be honest, I think I will stick with a train.

My 08 has 14K on it. Had 10 when I bought it in July and I paid 13 if that helps any
