I've now officially owned my bike for about a month, my first motorcycle. My last hobby cost me nothing compared to this one...I was into poker (still am) and collected casino poker chips, I'd drop a grand here and there on chips/tables/whatever. The bike is an addiction! I'll admit I was a bit intimidated of getting a "full-sized" bike as my first bike, I took the riding course in early october on a provided suzuki 250...the thing was a minibike, but I guess it did the trick. Jumped to my Fatboy and after a horrible first ride home (2 hour ride-45 degrees in the rain, at night, wearing sunglasses-don't ask, timing was all messed up-was supposed to be earlier int he day and freaking sunny!)
Since that day, I've put on about 300 miles and love the bike. Added a fixed sissy bar and changed the seat for the wife's comfort (she loves it now). Then I ordered passenger footboards for her...now I'm looking to buy bags....need an aux. light kit...thinking of chroming the front lowers...need a new 2 inot 1 exhaust (which one though??? I can't decide! Fatcat, python, custom????)
Does it end? Please say it does....I'm already thinking of what my next bike will be to add to the stable...it's a sickness.
LOL... welcome my friend... i hate to be the first to tell you that IT DOES NOT.
it's a never ending spiral of ideas, mods, looks, comfort, performance, etc etc etc...
at least for me.
the best decition ive made in my life was buying a harley and i love every minute of it.

congrats on the bike.
it's definitely not a hobby.
hopefully it will become integrated into your life. if so, you will find that the scoot you got, and the lifestyle will lead you to other hobbies.
Nope it doesn't end. And I agree kind of an obsession, I could let you ask my wife LOL. Pretty Expensive but the way I see it I have something to show for the money I put into my bike.
It is a crazy hobby, and after thinking about what I want to do for a few months, suddenly I have been inspired to go in a different direction. So, i am being cautious, since i do not have a ton of funds, I need to look before I leap, so to speak. There are some great bikes that have been modded, make sure you look at them ALL! Have fun!!!!
