Looking at either chrome plating or buying new chrome wheels for a 09 Rocker C. Ebay has wheel exchange program for $860, but can buy new chrome oem wheels for $700. Is there any advantages on the wheel exchange program other than time?
The only difference (besides price and turn around time of course) is quality. Harley has a very good quality control dept on its chrome. The company's Harley uses to chrome plate their products know that if they put out a shabby product they could lose a very large account, so quality is going to be good. When you go with an unknown company to do chrome plating its a craps shoot on weather its excellent, good or shabby. Check out the feedback on the company on ebay and also do a google on them for other problems that may exist. Good luck.
No advantage. Maybe before HD started offering the chrome rims, there was an advantage. (IMO should have come as stock on the FXCWC)
Now, for less you get brand new rims and have your old to try to sell off.
A buddy of mine jokes I have enough spare parts to build another.
Thanks for all the replies, there are definitely some mixed reviews of the company offering the wheel exchange so went ahead and ordered a big list of HD parts to chrome out.
