Used a Barnett with the S&S carb end as I have an S&S E carb. I used a tubing cutter to cut the outer jacket. I cut the inner cable with a pair of high quality electrical side-cutters. In the past I've used a propane torch to heat the end and flowed some solder into the strands. It can be a PITA because often the strands don't want to accept the solder. This last time I didn't do anything with the strands, but just made sure to handle them with care until I got the throttle assembled.

I was told to use the throttle grip end on the carb side so you can have the adjustment exposed and not in the bars. Both cable ends look to be the same size on my cv carb and handle grips. Guess it will make more sense when the internal throttle arrives.

Adding heat shrink to the entire length is a good idea. I did that when I wired my 16s. A little extra peace of mind.

yeah, it'll be pretty obvious when you see the throttle. I thought I used my cable as designed - carb end at carb - and the adjuster is under the tank, but closer to the carb. Now I'm wondering if it is actually as you say. Oh well, it works!

Ok was finally able to get some time in to work on the bars. But seems that the companies in FL have the slowest shipping ever know to man. Ordered bars from Carlini last thursday and also ordered the internal throttle from Streamline, and grips from Thunder Cycles on Thursday also. And bars arrive Tuesday and the throttle and grips are still not here. But was able to get wiring and brake line ran into the bars. Note to anyone doing this when you drill the hole for the brake line the Carlini bars have a thick wall bar and also have an internal bar that I found. At which made my day. It was a pain in the ars to drill through both bars to get the line to fit into the bars, but got it done. Here is the pictures.

Till next time, which hope us this week.

Do you think this could all be done on 1.25" bars? Or are the 1.50" bars necessary to run everything internal? Could you run normal throttle cables into the bars like you did the brake line, or do you have to get an internal throttle system?

The system I am using only uses one throttle cable. So I think that drilling the bars for the external throttle cables might be to much. I would just go get the bar clamps and have them lined up next to the bars. A person can do this on the 1 1/4" bars also. It all comes down to making everything nice and tight. The brake line hole is only a 1/4" so it is really not that big at all.
