Default Fork locks on old softail

I forgot all about riding around with a monster padlock hanging from my belt. Now that I just picked up a '93 Heritage Classic, I remember all too well.

Does anyone know of any conversion or better idea than locking the forks with a padlock?

The padlock is the quickest and cheapest way to go. I always drilled a hole on the right hand controls bracket and hung the lock there when it was not in use. You need to give it a squirt of wd40 everytime you put the bike away for the night or you won't be able to unlock it from the road grime, but we don't have a ton of places to hide it otherwise unless you just toss it in the bags.

there are a number of things made to hang your lock on or in;

http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com...lock-Pouch.htm

http://www.debrix.com/Pingel-Padlock...p/03101-m1.htm

Do some google searching, harley made a chrome do-dad to hang them on and I bought this leather thing last year that works great, I think it was 4 bucks shipped via ebay.

I remember the lock on the belt thing too, It had a couple of uses in that configuration..LOL

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I was actually looking for a replacement for the padlock, but the Pingle Lockster holder will probably suffice.
