My previous bike was stolen, so I use them both whenever the bike is out of sight. Not worth it to me to not use it for the sake of convenience. Takes about 5 seconds to do both. I know it can still be stolen, but gives me a little extra piece of mind that I didn't make it easy for someone, and who knows, they may just move on once they realize it's locked. Every little bit helps.

Ignition unless it's parked in my garage or drive. Fork if it's in public and out of my sight.

Fork sometimes when I'm away from the bike in public. Both If I'm away and can't see the bike.

It depends on how long I'm gonna be out of sight of the bike and where it's parked. Sometimes I not only lock it because of theft but also because you never know who might sit on your ride when your not visible and want to see what it feels like to hold the bike up. If they can't turn the handlebars than problem solved!!! Just my IMO!!

'09 Ultra Classic

Used the ignition lock abt 4-5 times when I was away from home. And I am away a lot.

With the security pkg, when I shut the engine off, within 10 seconds it auto disengages the electricl system so no one can start it.

You can turn the handle bars and move it but u can't start it.

When I approach the bike it will auto disngage so I can start it. VERY conveneint for most of the time I run around thown hopping on an doff and it auto engages and disengages. <-- GREAT!!

I used both but it didn't make a difference! Already ordered New York Legend 15mm security chain for the next bike. Came close to ordering 19mm Almax chain from the UK which cant be cut with even the largest bolt cutters, though I'm sure it would fall to a grinder or torch.

Ignition always and a big honking padlock on the front disc everytime , if its gonna sit for a while like work or over night it gets a cable around the rear wheel too and around a pole or post if I can . You want it your gonna work for it and if it's gonna take that much time the pager alarm has me on the run too by then and then everybodies day is gonna get busy .

Got in to the habit of locking both every time I get off the bike no matter where it is. I had a bike stolen 30 years ago from in front of my apartment ran up stairs to get something I was upstairs less than 5 minutes when I came back down there was no sign of it. Now in my pole barn I have 2 I-beams in the ground that I park between and cable the front and rear wheel to each of them.
