Fork lock, Roadloc disc lock, and if possible (usually not possible) line of sight.
At home house is cameraed up, multiple dvr recording, bikes still locked as it is when outside and multiple firearms scattered about. The firearms are not because of the bike.
I lock both every time. Doesn't matter where I am, or what I'm doing. It doesn't take any time to do it, and at least I know that to steal my bike they'll have to pick it up and load it in a truck or van. When I am traveling, I also use a cable & lock to secure the bike to a post or my GF's bike when staying at a motel/hotel.
Both + key fob alarm if I can't see the bike. Key fob only if I can see it. I also use the key fob when in the garage in case some ahole gets in the garage somehow, I can hear the alarm (radio shack $6 add on) & know to get my Glock.
pain in the *** to always lock it up so if you want it that bad go ahead and steel it--I'll but another one
It's a bigger pain in the *** dealing with insurance companies, police reports, being bikeless (if you only have one) shopping for a new bike and having to go through licensing at the DMV again. Not to mention if it's stolen while your away from home and then have to arrange alternate transpo.
Then again I did use both and I'm going through all that BS I mentioned above anyway.
Its my bike and I lock everything I can, all the time. I know how well insurance companys pay up. never had one pay anything close to replacement value, ON ANYTHING !!
