I just read on another forum of an attempted theft. The fork lock was locked. The thief(ves) used a screwdriver or something on it and ruined it but didn't get the bike.
I use the fork lock almost all the time but I would really like it if I could get a gas cap lock to prevent some of those people new to gas caps coming over and twisting mine and playing with it to see how many clicks it takes to secure it properly.
Bikes are in the house when we're here. Ultra not locked, key in the sporty.
If we go out of town, the bike left gets both ignition and fork locked.
If the bike is in sight I don't mess with locking it. Sporty key stays in ignition. Ultra has the security fob thingy.
If out of sight the sporty key is removed from ignition, Ultra is fork locked.
Did not used to do that as much, but after a friend had his Street Glide stolen at a rally on private property a few years ago...I started locking mine up.
