Jagg 10-row on the downtube. If you ride below 60 degrees, get a thermostat.

I too installed the HD cooler on my bike, because I lived in Southern California in an area where the air temps reached well over 100 degrees and my engine oil temp had surpassed 300 on more than one occasion.

It added the temperature reduction that I was looking for, so I was very happy with that unit. It was easy to install, came with everything I needed, and just works.

And you do have to install an oil cooler adapter.
Forget about a thermostat, it's not necessary.
Do you have the oil cooler mounted horizontally, below the voltage regulator?

If so, could you post, or PM me, a pic?

Thanks

4 row Jagg mounted under the regulator
Really don't notice it unless you're looking hard.

Thanks for the pic, you've got a great looking bike.

How much lower does the oil cooler hang below the frame?

Doesn't Jagg offer a bracket that lifts the voltage regulator up, allowing more ground clearance for the oil cooler? Did you use this bracket?

Thanks

This pic might be a better angle that you're looking for.
Hangs MAYBE 1/2 to 3/4 inch below.
The bracket Jagg included only allowed me install the cooler and mount the regulator in basically the same location.
All the bracket does is it gives you a place to mount the cooler to, it doesn't raise the regulator up .
I haven't had any problems with the location of the cooler and I ain't afraid to ride on the rocky/dirt roads either.
I was concerned about the position too till I had 10k on it.
Now it doesn't even cross my mind anymore.

And thanks for the compliment on my bike.

I'm thinking about an oil cooler for the Fat Boy Lo I am getting, but in the catalog, it says you have to side mount the oil cooler if you have the antilock brake system. Anyone know anything about this? I don't like the idea of how I imagine it will look that way, I'd like it in front of the engine, out of the way.

Thanks again, just what I was looking for.

Your bike is very unique. What brand seat & air cleaner do you have?

I just changed the trans oil in my RK and it was full of emulsified oil from water. Too many short trips, not enough long ones. Or else I need an oil heater for my tranny!

Had the same problem with the engine oil in my Ducati ... you can probably guess that I live in the Pacific Northwest ...

i've got an oilbud tucked underneath between the frame rails of my fatty, you don't even see it, i like it alot

the thermostat kicks in, & it cools your oil, & this thing is HEAVY DUTY, ( i mean the guy shoots it with a 12ga at about 10ft, & then pressure tests it with no leaks ) that sold me right there

try that with your jagg or hd cooler

besides, who wants to look at an uglyass jagg or hd cooler hanging off your frame like it just don't belong there
