Hey Trax, don't mean to hijack this thread but how's the ride on that solo seat with the chrome? Thinking of getting one for my Fatty but don't know anyone with one. FWIW I like the stock seat on the '06 so if it's that good at least it would be good for me.

TIA

I had the same solo seat as it came stock on my bike as well. I put 2200 gruelling miles on that seat. At the 100 mile mark my *** would hurt to the point where it was hard to concentrate any more. Maybe it's me only but I think the seat sucks for anything over 5 or 10 miles.
I have another 6600 miles on my Sundowner and have nothing but praise for it. Doesn't look as cool, but it sure rides better...........

I have the standard shield and cut it down about 2 inches. Get some minor buffeting but I can slump a bit and it goes away. You definitely want to be able to look over the shield if you ride in the wet. You won't be able to see through it once it gets wet and dirty.

I'm 6' and ride a deluxe. I added the detachable windshield and had an unbearable problem with buffering. I added the lower deflectors and they worked wonders, not completely eliminated but substantially reduced. It takes tools but I remove them, when I don't have the windshield on, but I always remove them because I am not crazy about the look. Sometimes you have to go with function over form, I only use it on the Hwy for road trips.

Hi,

My dealer said the deflectors are not availible for the Softail Standard? It would have been nice for the highway.

Oh well
