Im running 12.5 Wild 1's with 1.5 risers. Fits me like a glove, Dr. V Twin has a killer deal on those 14s. There is also a guy in the classifieds thats selling a compete set of Magnum cables +8 for cheap..

Or i you really really must go with lower, definitely get 14's with 1 inch risers...
tall risers look like ***!

i saw a bike the other day with 12''s and tall as hell risers and it looked like crap, they must have been like 3 or 4 inches long i swear...

Bobber, since you have the same bike, with the same seat,, and you're 3 inches shorter than I am - I think I'm gonna follow your lead. I didn't even think about the drop in the bars from the pull back. I DID take into account the pullback distance though, since my hands were about the same place they were with the stock Deluxe bars (only higher, of course). Assuming 16's generally have about a 2" drop, they should be perfect.

A lot of good suggestions IRT to bars on here - hope no one is offended that I'm considering Hill Country Customs pre-wired kits. Seems like one-stop shopping to me, and for a first timer like me, looks like the easiest way to go. As far as cost is concerned, it also seems like a pretty good deal when I consider the cost of individual items, ie, bars, wire extensions, cables, etc...

The wiring/switches they provide with their pre wired bars are cheap, taiwan knock offs (aka crap). Do yourself a favor and use the existing switches that came on the bike. I speak from experience. Aint that hard to fish your existing switches thru new bars and solder on extensions.
