I've got the 33's and they're a great length. Much less scraping than the 36's or longer.

Not to steal your thread but have an appropriate question.

Will the 33's work with hardbags on the softail? using the cycle vision bagger tail without hitting the fishtail? Anyone know?

It depends on how far back you mount the bags. Some people have made them fit with 33" but I know they fit the 36" for sure.
