Myers.
checked around ebay and found a Fuelpak for 100 bucks buy it now.
Guess I will be going that route first and hoping it works.
Last time I tried the fuelpak I had a junk A/C on the bike that didn't fit right and it ran like crap.
Hopefully with the proper A/C on the bike and the sideshots or the pro pipe I have, I can get it dialed in

Power Commander or TTS. Or wait and see how this new Dyno Jet tuner coming out very soon. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Forget the dealer flash; it is meant for SE components and your pipes are not SE so the flash won't match.

I would talk to the Fuel Moto guys about the new Vision tuner which is a speed density tuner (a departure from the previous models) with an auto tune feature and other features targeted toward the DIY tuner. If you could get one of those, preloaded with a map for your currrent Stage I configuration, the bike should run good and you will have a fuel management system capable of tuning more sophisticated upgrades in the future.

The problem with the Fuel Pak and similar tuners is that you cannot adjust timing which, IMHO, is a critical tuning element. Get the timing wrong, generate excessive heat and you will have problems.

The ECM flash is a wast of money in my opinion. It is just a guess at what needs to be done to the fuel and like stated earlier is based off SE parts. Know lots of people who have had them only to get a tuner later. I would say if you are planning on doing more upgrades later do not get the fuel pak. Go with one that will work with the planned upgrades. That way you can adjust all the needed cells once mods are done. Save yourself the money and just do it once. Just as an FYI I picked up my PCIII for 65 on ebay and had a buddy who got one for 50 off craigslist.

Few years back the HD flash was 150.00... wow have economical times changed.

I would pass on the flash. I would pass on the V&H fuel pak. I would apply the money to a Power Commander or whatever HD calls their Sert now as this will benefit you more going forward with other engine mods.

Honestly I probably won't have the cash to do any kind of major engine upgrades till prob next winter, if then. This economy is killing me.
I picked up the fuelpak really cheap and when and if the time comes to do the motor work, I shouldn't have much trouble unloading it for what I paid for it.
In the mean time, I should be able to enjoy the occaisional nice day or two this winter with my nice new stage 1 AC that I talked Santa out of a few days early!

I agree with what some others have said before. I have heard some negative things about the stealership flash and for that price I would just get an engine management program that will work with the cam set up your saving for. There is no use in buying things twice over.

The flash is better than it used to be, still I wouldn't do it.. its a one time shot. then U just hope it works out for U..

If Ur not going to do anything else (ever)to Ur motor a cheaper piggyback unit will get U running but its not going to give u the performance like a good F/M system and a good dyno tune.

That's pretty much where I am now.
I won't get to do anything to the motor for at least another year, if not longer, so I just went with the Fuelpak to get me on the road for now. If I do the motor work, I know I'm gonna want to go all out and that's gonna cost some cash, but I will budget in for a good quality tuner and some dyno time.
