Just completed the installation of these Vance & Hines duals, equipped with their fishtail tips, on my Fatboy.
The job took longer than expected due to the additional chrome pieces and the modifications required for a clean look. I didn't want the mounting bracket opposed so some notching of the swingarm covers were necessary, plus relocating the license plate holder.
I also utilized the Quiet Baffles provided. They offer a very pleasing exhaust tone- not overly loud and obnoxious, but a deep rumble.
Haven't checked the plugs yet for possible carburetor re-jetting.
No noticable difference in performance.
A thanks to Fourm Member NIKONF8 who provided an outstanding value and purchase transaction.
Way to go nick, they look great on your bike glad your happy with them. by the way the quiet baffles had some warping around them. i had removed it for a Little more sound . sounds like you like them that way.
There was a member "chromedome" who was runnen those same pipes on his old Deluxe without the fishtail tips and it looked great.... Have you ever thought about removing the tips?
IMO.. that would look great on your bikes set-up also.
Lookin' good, I have the V&H on my Heritage and love the look and sound. With the baffles that are quiet at idle but engage the throttle and the sweet sound of a rumble turns heads.
Sweet! I've got the V&H duals on my Heritage too but without the fishtials. Now, what would a set of wide white walls do to the look? I have mine, just not mounted yet.
