Default Apes insalled (pics)

Just finished my ape install today. Thanks to everyone on the board for all the different ape install directions posted on this site.
Install was pretty smooth. Remove bars and slide tank back. The only difficult part was the front brakes did not want to bleed...finally got them though. Went with 16 inch HCC (couldn't beat the price)...poly bushings and Kur Iso Grips...got a short ride in today..they feel great...way better than stock. Anyone who is considering doing an install should go ahead and just do it..get a manual, read the forums, a buddy to help, and a case of beer-- then your ready. Nothing like a christmas present--to me from me. Happy new year all.

Sorry the pics suck...

Very true...some of the shops around me wanted far to much to install them...about as much as the bars cost.

More in fact...much more. I've heard of a $1K total for new bars plus install. They can keep it!

I ordered from Hill Country Customs...they will send bars with wiring already pulled thru bars..for an extra $95 they will even put factory plugs on (no soldering). Kit came with wiring, and all cables--the correct length...you just tell them your bike model, year, and riser size. http://www.hillcountrycustomcycles.com/
