Default night train apes question

I'm swapping my stock bars/risers for some 10" or 12" apes. I've got 1.5" risers and I need to know what size cable and brake line measurements I'm going to need. I'm guessing I need about 6" extra on everything including wiring. Anyone else's set ups with lengths would be a great help. Also do I need dimpled bars? I'm seeing some of them in catalogs that say dimmpled or drilled? I'm planning on running the wires inside the bars too. Thanks.

I'll be throwing a set of 12" mini's on mine soon (within the next month.) I'll be sure to post back here after I find out what additional cable length I needed...

Hopefully someone posts before I blow cash on **** I don't need.

Four months later and I finally got 'em on. +6" over stock (1999) on everything. Worked like a charm.

train... I wouldn't go 10" cause it'll look like a stock softail custom... If you're gonna buy cables make it worth your money go at the very least 12.5" it's just my 2 cents though?

Your gonna be right around here on cable but do so reseach please... You can't always trust me... lol

12.5's...

Throttle & Idle --- 37"

Clutch --- 68"

Brake line --- 46"

I'd say +6" or 8" for 14"'s, but you already have the exact measurements above which makes it really easy.

yeah I'm saying don't go 10's unless you're talking about RSD bars or something like that... Cause the softail customs come stock with 10's and it doesn't give me a rise when looking at them... Just my 2 cents though. Cables cost more then the bars most times so be sure before jumping in. 12.5's are a good in between size and you can roll it forward for a little more arm extension.

I was thinking the 10" carlini evil apes....really not wanting anything big. Drew posted a pic of them on a bike in the Official Heartland thread and liked them...just not sure

Okay then thats a little different then... More along the lines of the RSD bars... It would look cool.
