Not 422 but kinda the same I have progressive 413's
Progressive will get you downway lower then the stock harley shocks even if you got the low profile ones! I don't adjust my my shocks though the rides rough but I deal with it even 2up.
I was told by progressive that I could drop my 99 Fatboy by 1-1/2" & still have a better ride than the stock shocks provide. Is that true, or are they just braggin up their product? BTW, the shocks I was askin them about are being sold by a private owner, so progressive wasn't gonna make any money on me.
They are way better then stock shocks I have a friend with the 422 2" down and he say they're real smooth... Mine on the other hand are slammed about 4" on the rear and sitting on the snubber.

You sure you wanna know this??? I don't know if it'll work the same as the 422's but on my 413's... Okay so when I had stock shocks with the cheap bolt kit it gave me a 2" drop right... Set the preload to the stiffest setting thinking I don't wanna bottom out... You know to be safe... Old pics...
When I took out the stock shocks with the cheap bolt kit on them and set them down side by side with the progressives they measured the same about 11" or 11.5" it's been awhile?
stock shocks cheap bolt kit 2" down, preload set to stiffest setting
Progressive 413's preload set to the softest (that's right the softest) setting it allowed the shocks to strech out more when the weight of the bike was on it... Thus allowing me to slam it down to the rubber snubber...
BTW I got about 4" on my front too now-a-days... lol
