My new cross bones (used 2008)
The Journey begins...
OK so I broke down and bought a used Bones..
She is a 2008 and had Vance and Hines pipes on her along with a fuelpack, heat wrap, and a larger (stage 1?) air filter installed, under the stock cover. He also had a Lepera seat put on.. It has 1993 miles on it. Other than that it is pretty normal.
According to him it cost him about 22k for everthing new + tax tag title..
I paid $13000 plus 1120 for taxes (man I effing love NY) and title/tag plus $100 to get a trailer to get it over to the shop for a total of $14220......
Right now it is in the shop getting the 1000 mile check up and they are going to install a smoked detachable windsheild..
Next I want to install a custom Sissy bar.
Then I am thinking of going back to a bobber style seat and pillion. Although I like how low the Leperra seat is, Im not to thrilled with the look of it.
More than likley I will install a cone air cleaner and some trumbet horns.
After that who knows maybe I will actually get out and ride the damm thing...
Any ways I will post pictures in my album (dont know how to get them here in the thread) as we go along for thoose of you who want to follow along...
If you have any internet links for guys who custom make seats/leather/custom metal parts etc. etc. please post them here...

Not a bad deal at all. Mine was an '09 that I bought last Sept., paid $16000 plus all the taxes (We have you beat over here in Cali. when it comes to taxes). It had 1137 miles on it.

Man dont get me going on the taxes ....
I think NY and CA keep trading off on first and second place...
You cant swing a dead cat here in NY with out hitting a tax collector...
Bike has been over at the dealer for over a week now and they dont even have the parts in yet.... Got to love the "free" winter storage.... Now dosent that just sound much better than STILL WAITING???

looks like a good buy. i don't know how someone could drop $22k on a bike and only put 2000 miles on it in two years.

Pictures... I figured out how to get them in my album and avatar, but not how to get them in the thread... It will be at least a week or so before I get it back from the shop, as soon as I do then I will post some more with the new smoked windsheild.. After that the next project is the custom sissy bar/luggage rack (for a small messenger bag) that will take a couple of weeks to complete, then I have to start on the seat.. So as I get the money and time I will post as I complete each project...
Low milelage.. The Guy is in the Army in Afganastan, he had it on ebay for 14500 with no bites so I emailed him with my offer and he took it...
His mom had POA and went down to the DMV to complete the deal with me... So for the most part it has been sitting in his parents garage...
