Default Cable & Brake Line Length

I have what I believe are fatboy bars on my heritage, came that way from the dealer. It has braided lines. Does anyone know if I can switch to stock heritage bars without changing the lines? I have a hydraulic clutch & EFI if that makes any difference. Sorry the photo is not better. Thanks

I would say no problem but the thing to do would be to find a stock one at your local dealer and measure the amount of cable exposed to varify.

DUH........... On mine the exposed throttle cables are 22". Thats from the front of tank to throttle housing. I Hope this helps.

One would assume you could, but I don't have the answer you are looking for unfortunately.

Are you saying the bars in the jpg you posted are FB bars. Sure don't like it to me.

One thing you might want to try is to go on the magnum shielding website and punch in your make/year of your Heritage. It'll give you the cable lengths for your oem bars. Then you can measure the cables you now have to see if they'll work.

Thanks for the info and the magnum shields idea. I checked my original paperwork and the bars are actually a variation of the Roadking bars. They are part number 55954-00 in the accessory catalogue. They are 4.5" higher and narrower than the stock '96-'99 RK bars. I am guessing they would work with stock heritage bars, now the question is how high of apes will they work with.

If the current cables were sized to fit the RK bars rather than the stock Heritage bars they may be too short. I say if you want different bars get them and worry about the cables later. (it's only money ) I really liked the looks of the chubby 12.5" apes (502s?) and almost went with them but they didn't have the pb I needed so I ended up going with a more of a RK style bar (518s). If you shop around you can probably find bars for alot less than retail.
