Default Cable length with 8" z bars

Ihave a 2012 48 and just got my 8" z bars in. I'm wondering if anyone knows if everything can fit without having to get longer cables and lines.

Any info would've greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Craig

From what I've read you can use stock cables although I put 7 inch friscos in and needed a new brake line... which bats did you get I've been after some 8 inch z's..

I think you will be ok using all your stock cables. I have 10" Z bars and only had to replace the front brake cable. I used all of the rest of the stock cables. Most you might have to do is move the cables that are on the left side of the tank. they run under the front tank mount. I had to move mine to run above the front tank mount. The brake line you probably can bend the steal part. I would recommend getting rid of it and running a steal braided cable. Much better than the cheap stock rubber line. You can get a "BYO" cable kit from Magnum Shielding. 6ft line for about $55. Then just cut it to fit(about 40-45") and put on the banjo bolts. the kit I bought was part #496190A

Just answered this for a guy wanting Biltwell Friscos, also have a 8" rise :

Been there, done that... Here's the story:

I went with a custom brake line from a company on Ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-s...item3cc3290d2a

I went with Banjo fitting #1 for the top and #3 for the bottom with a 90* rotation.

Black line color with 2 single 10x1.25 black banjo bolts.

With an overall 44" in length, I wasn't sure on this because I ordered before I had the bars, so I was a little generous on the length. I'd rather a little too long than not long enough.

You can see in the picture that the line "loops out" a bit at the top and the bottom. But it doesn't stick out any further than the throttle cables so its fine by me. If I were to do it again I'd probably go with a 42" length.

I chopped 1.25" off each side as well, thats as narrow you can go running factory controls.

Everything else is stock length, clutch and throttle cables are plenty long. I also internally wired them using the factory wiring.

Just tried the website again, says they're out of stock. Do you think the bent steel tube will hold up until I can replace it?
