Default If u could design a harley::::::

I was thinking since HD seems like they are not on the ball in the design department what would you do if you were able to design one?

My design would be a soft tail frame, a hartland type rear fender, 200 rear tire, big cc motor- 107" or more, stretch 5 gallon tank with lift, springer front end, slammed 2" rear, floor boards, flush gas caps, LED lights, factory coil relocation, NICE paint ( stuff from the past that worked and looked nice), nice tank emblems, solo seat that follows the lines of the bike, air cleaner that works (screw the EPA on this one) and so on......
All this for $16,000.00 or $10,000.00 for HD forum members-LOL

I just think they should do a Softail semi-custom.

Meaning you could pick a softail model and then get to pick what bars, seat, WW tires..... to suit your style

I think that would get them a lot of people interested

You hit the nail right on the head. I think I would not reinvent the wheel,,,I would bring back for a limited time only the KnuckleHead but with all the modern conveniences. It might **** off some HD purest tho...

+1 on build a bike! That would be the best, softail frame, pick tin's exhaust, forks, or springs, seat, chrome or not. Lets face it, the stealership just bolts on **** anyway. That would be uber nice.

I'd be happy if they could just make the engine run right without needing a mandatory stage 1 to do it.
If that means water cooling then so be it.

More cubes would be nice too...80hp bone stock off the showroom floor.
If Yamaha can do it with the Raider then Harley should be able to do it.

Ok, Flame on...

1. Redesign bagger frame to take a 110" B motor like the Softail convertable. A bagger without washing machine vibrations.

2. Bring back the Badboy.

Build a bike....just like a car.

Pick your frame, set-up, tires, bars, seats, pegs, motor, everything.

Start from scratch. No more just taking whats on the floor and then spending another $10K to make it a custom.
