how can i get that rap rap sound (throttle responce) when i give it throttle, someone suggested i change the cam and what all is involved IN DOING SO. PLEASE HELP

 

Maybe I am dumb (well more than maybe) but I have no idea what you mean by rap rap sound.

 

If you're looking for that good 'ol fashion harley sound, change the cams, get loud exhaust, and put in some dirty old spark plugs or something to make it run rough....

 

My '99 FXDX had the sound you seek, but it had headwork, changed out the carb, cams, 95" kit, SE ignition and 2-1 performance exhaust. It wasn't cheap...

 

drop in some woods cams, they ramp up pretter quick.

 

A set of unbaffled samson fishtails will do it

 

You can not get the old harley sound if it is a EFI!

 

+1 on that !!! My wife's inj'd 03 idles like an air compressor.
Even my carb'd 00 which has the factory single fire ign doesn't have the horse gallop idle both of my Shovelheads had.
It does have a slight lope though.
