Good Day all, I have a few questions about this task in hand. What are the cams gunna do to the bikes performance and what else will it do?(cool it down, use more gas...???)I currently have a carburator in it and not EFI. I am puting in SE204 cams, adjustable pushrods, new cam plate, gaskets, so on and so on. Any information will help me better understand the cam theory besides more torque. It is an 06 Heritage. Thanks again.
Installed cams in my 06. imo 204's in an 88" is not the beast choice. Maybe with a 4* advance key? Adding the 2n1 provided a nice sop bump. Had vh bss and the 2n1 was a very noticeable improvement.

Everyone has, and is entitled to their opinion. IMO the 204's in an 88 with a 2:1 exhaust is a great combination. Check out the Dyno thread at the top.
I have the samson cholo's (39's baffeled) and the se stage one on it already.
With a carb and those pipes, the SE204s are going to give you a great throaty idle sound, good middle RPM power and a reasonable peak horse power increase.
Find a good carb guy and get that puppy jetted in right and you'll have very nice ride.

Agreed, "middle RPM" and upper hp. Your low end tq will be soft. Everyone knows tq is what moves these bikes. And the largest/Peak numbers dont mean squat. Its the area under the curve that matters. And duals also loose low end tq. Their is a reason why even stock pipes have a cross over pipe. So, duals combined with 204's is gonna be soft in the low to mid...

No argument about the 204's being "Soft" on the low end compared to 2:1 pipes. But the original poster like his long true dual pipe...
This is a subject much like an Oil thread. You will get many differing opinions. I have the SE 211' in but I also have more motor and head work so I don't know how that helps you. I do know this, my bike comes off the line like rapped ape. I also know this too, I'm not too concerned about that anymore either. It's why going to the 39"s cholos doesn't bother me if I lose a tad after having this Python 2 into 1 pipe. I guess if it turned out to be a complete dog than I would have to reconsider but I am told with what I have I shouldn't lose much, if anything. I'm an "Old Fart" now and I'm into just cruising. I do think that no matter what you go with, rejet your bike on a Dyno tune and get every once out of it it is designed to give you. IMHO, a Dyno tuned bike is much healthier, performs at it's peak and runs cooler. Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you.
