Worked on the rocker a little more this weekend. got the new spacers in on friday so saturday I ran the fenders to the painter. When I got back I pulled the back tire off again and put in the new spacers. SWEET everything lines up and the brake caliper mount is center'd around the rotor.
I must say the clearances are mighty tight....
belt to tire clearance
belt to swingarm clearance
The last thing I wanted to do was check out the turn signals in the struts.
the problem I was having was the wires will not stay in the channel so
out came the hot glue gun and problem solved.
mounted them to see them work.
off
on
Now I wait for the fenders or the inner primary witchever comes first...
That is EXACTLY how much clearence I had with my belt and the swing arm BEFORE I had the rear sprocket face milled down .200" Keep an eye on the belt because I only have 14k on my bike and I'm on my THIRD belt due to the fact that harley thought it was a swing arm issue. When you take it for the first test drive make sure to keep an eye on that belt...look for any rubbing of any kind. It will degrade quickly if you let it go for too long..
By the way, is the belt that they provided to you skinnier than the stock one?
Yes the belt they supply is much narrower its 20mm. Ive had the bike out a few times and no sign of rubbing.
Well that's good to hear! The part that would most likely rub is bottom part of the belt (the part with the teeth facing in the upward position) This the part of the belt that gets some slack in it when you accelerate hard. That's what my problem was.....bike looks awesome by the way!
Hello,
Thanks for all this informations and very nice pictures.
Sorry because I don't speak fluently, do you have changed your shock to lower the bike. The new tire and wheel are still in 18" or in 20 ".
Only little Rocker C in France but I hope to buy this kit
You dont have to add the shotgun shock to lower the bike you could use lowering bolts for the factory shock to lower the bike. but the air ride if its in your budget definately is the way to go. The new wheel and tire are 18"
That looks awesome!
I always liked the Rocker, but to me something was missing... She wasn't finished when the MoCo put her in the market. With these mods, she definately is. Congrats on the nice work! I love it.
