Hey Guys, Im not sure if this is appropriate for this forum but Ill take a chance since my question is whether or not this engine will run properly with the baffles removed from VH BigShots staggered. Its on a 05 Deuce, Carbed 11k miles. Engine is stock.
To remove them just look on the backside of the pipes and remove the screw and they slide out. Some times you have to grab them with a hook or some needle nose to pull them out.

+1 But if they've been in there for a good amount of time they'll probably be stuck. Might try squirting a little WD40 around them and then let them sit for a while. Sometimes it's easier to pound them in a little to get them to break free, then you can yank them out like described above. Good luck.
I had a set of V&H Big Radius with BCT baffles and it sounded great. That is if you like LOUD and DEEP. I would imagine the BSS would sound even better because thaty have a little deeper sound than the BR from the factory.
If you want LOUD, DEEP, and OBNOXIOUS...that's the way to go...and you won't loose power like you will with no baffles.
Ok thanks guys. I was thinking as far as the power loss goes, I'm coming from an 883 so I don't think I'll really mind all that much. I just do t want to create any unhealthy running condition. Now what I mean.

Thanks again! pete
You're talking apples to oranges. The 883 is a much lighter and more nimble bike than the Deuce. I am assuming you want to remove the baffles for sound (no reason stated)?? If you are removing the baffles for sound why not use a product that will give you a better sound and no loss of performance. I had a set of BSS on my bike once and they are plenty loud from the factory. The BCT baffles will probably make it a little louder and will give it a nice deep tone. The BSS also have a hidden cross over to provide some of the benefits of a 2 into 1 pipe. They are designed this way to have the looks of the 2 into 2 without without the power loss (torque loss) that the 2 into 2 has (as compared to a 2 into 1 pipe). With the design of the BSS I would imagine there would be a noticable difference in power. I can't tell you this from personal experience because I couldn't justify taking a $600 set of pipes made to perform a certain way and degrading that performance. However, I have seen many articles where guys did experience this (see below).
I'm not a carb guy but I would imagine you will have to rejet the carb so for the bike to run correctly.
Do a Google search and type in "harley remove baffles" Plenty of articles to answer your question and some good education in there as well.
