Last year I sent my 98 Sportster up for a 29 tooth sprocket, 20,000 mile service, replace some worn/old cables and a few other things....1 week later I got a call it was done.

Dropped out the Sportster and picked up my 06 SB for a 15,000 mile service, do some mods here and there and again about a week and very affordable considering what I was having done.

This summer I collected parts of a 88 to 95 inch build on the SB. Took my box of collected parts up, talked to the tech and he was impressed at my selection of heads, cams, pistons and what not.

Made arrangements to have the bike again trailer ed up to Saddleback in Logan, Utah on a Friday morning. Saturday afternoon I get a call from the tech that he is almost done and will be by that night...but we need to talk about A/C as the motor wasn't going to be getting enough air.

Up graded to SE A/C, retro chrome cover, new bearings and they discounted what they could here and there as well.

Went up and it wasn't quite what I expected sound wise, tech told me about BCT Baffles so I ordered them up and had them shipped straight away. They installed the BCT baffles at no charge to boot.

They would have keep the bike stored all winter for free but I wanted to get it home so I could play with it.

Just bought a 1998 Fatboy I am going to have them pick up and take it to the shop for a good once over and some mods like add the headlight Nacelle.

Most dealerships in the country are hiring young kids to do the work, less pay more profit. It is becomming more and more a common pratice. Good techs at the dealers are becomming a thing of the past or maybe just have one. Once you know what your doing and want more money either you leave or suck it up or if you make too much you are gone and they hire a kid who works for nothing. Sad but more true than false. You can't blame the motor co as suppliers now stock less and sometimes venders go out of business and they have to search out another. The economy is whats turning it all upside down. What will make you happy is that it won't get better real soon

Now wait just a dang second!!! You want reasonably fast service that is done right the first time? What...you want to be kept in the loop on the status of your $20,000 vehicle too?

Not here buddy!

I don't think my showing up on Christmas Eve to check out my SB with a 5th of Jack Daniel's and quart of eggnog could have anything to do with the way I get treated...Nah, couldn't be

I guess I'm lucky too. I've had my bike in for service and upgrades once and once for just upgrades. Both times, order parts, parts come in (within a week), make appointment, take it in and get a ride home or they pick up and deliver....back that afternoon. Cost of labor is negotiated. I'm happy.

Dealerships cost too much money. Bottom line.

I got a quote the other day for a SE Super Tuner and Dyno. And asked em if they would install the pipes and SE Heavy Breather that I got from outside sources....

quote came out to $1100......told em to take that quote and go wipe their *** with it. I have come out $400 cheaper if I buy the Super Tuner online and have an independent performance shop do all the work.

And i hate when people cry about not being able to install a winshield, then cry about the dealer taking to long. If it was me i would have bought the parts waited for them to all come in then taken it but i guess im just a special kinda guy.

What tees me off is the parts rep telling me, the part you want is not in stock, but we can order it. No Sh - -.

Look at the bright side . . . They may be slow; but they're expensive.
