#2 Then he asks "I see you still have $2000 left on your Harley Credit, you should check out our jackets and boots, because we are having a sale". When I said NO THANK YOU, you should have seen the look he gave me..
This kills me, I am not going to spend $500 on your jacket with YOUR name on it and advertise for you for free... Harley should pay us to advertise... I dont go buy Ford or GE jackets (and other stuff) and promote them...

I have no problem with people who wear advertising, that is OK, just don't get pissed off with me because I decide not too...

Yes, but it was credit. Not like it's real money.

Alright I'll jump in here..
I need a new top triple tree Don't ask me why but I do. So the first thing I do is phone my hometown dealer in Canada get a part # and price. After coughing up a lung, I go onto Zanotti parts look up page to see how out to lunch my dealer is. This time around the part is 108 and change from the good folks at Zanniotis. That same part, the same damn thing at my dealer is $270 and change...That's not even close to the same ballpark. How can Harley rape Canadians when our dollar is on par or better then the US dollar?
I cringe when I meet people on the road and they actually pay that high price tag because they are uninformed and allow the "Stealership" to bend them over. It's BS.
I went with a thundermax and a local wrench to cut them out of the equation completely when it comes to my bike. This has been the motivation to work on my bike myself, unfortunately I do need parts from them now and again.

Each HD dealer is independently owned and operated, isn't it? I love my dealer, they always have a ton of parts in stock whenever I need something, and for some reason they love to give me like 15% off everything and throw in free cleaning supplies like almost every time I go in there to buy something..Like I just bought $1250 worth of parts for $1062, so that's a pretty good deal in my opinion.

Yeah the clothes are way overpriced and aside from having a HD helmet I won't buy anything with a logo on it.. I'd sooner pick up a HD patch at a flea market and sew it on myself... anywho. yeah.

Here`s my pet peeve…

People who bring their bike to the dealer for some ridiculous reason, and complain on a forum that the dealer is holding the bike hostage.

Don`t whine on a forum…For cryin out loud, go get the bike…

A 2,000 mile service… Are you freaking kidding me?

You gotta stop being so helpless.

How can I sell the Honda? Your mother gave it to me as a thank you for satisfying her. I can't hurt her feelings like that.

Last year I sent my 98 Sportster up for a 29 tooth sprocket, 20,000 mile service, replace some worn/old cables and a few other things....1 week later I got a call it was done.

Dropped out the Sportster and picked up my 06 SB for a 15,000 mile service, do some mods here and there and again about a week and very affordable considering what I was having done.

This summer I collected parts of a 88 to 95 inch build on the SB. Took my box of collected parts up, talked to the tech and he was impressed at my selection of heads, cams, pistons and what not.

Made arrangements to have the bike again trailer ed up to Saddleback in Logan, Utah on a Friday morning. Saturday afternoon I get a call from the tech that he is almost done and will be by that night...but we need to talk about A/C as the motor wasn't going to be getting enough air.

Up graded to SE A/C, retro chrome cover, new bearings and they discounted what they could here and there as well.

Went up and it wasn't quite what I expected sound wise, tech told me about BCT Baffles so I ordered them up and had them shipped straight away. They installed the BCT baffles at no charge to boot.

They would have keep the bike stored all winter for free but I wanted to get it home so I could play with it.

Just bought a 1998 Fatboy I am going to have them pick up and take it to the shop for a good once over and some mods like add the headlight Nacelle.

I've had great results at my local dealer also. They always are willing to give me a discount on parts, do me right on Labor charges and are actually pretty laid back. We are lucky indeed. I usually have to hit brass tacks early with car dealers, as they think that everyone is an idiot...haven't had to deal with that shyte at my HD dealer. Props to Edmond HD! I'll wrench the minor stuff, but until I get a larger workspace I take the major stuff to the dealer.
